Case Study 5: A Document Repository

The Challenge: A commercial construction company wanted to make sure that plans and bid documents were more quickly and easily available to vendors. The documents were only to be accessible to approved users and downloading of the documents by vendors need to be recorded to validate receipt. Documents needed to be uploadable by the company and access had to be controlled using access control lists.

The Solution: We designed a simple to use interface for the listing, sorting and download of documents. The solutions also required simple mechanisms for keeping the documents properly organized. Access control was simple to use at either the project or document level.

The Result: The bidding process has been streamlined and our client’s vendors report that his site is the easiest to navigate of all online document sites. A searchable and sortable log verifies receipt of documents by vendors.
